Mala Kumar Engineers was established in 1984 with a vision to emerge as a leading supplier of contract mining services to clients in the infrastructure development sector in India. Its founder, Mr. Sanjiv Kumar, a commerce graduate, with significant achievements in the industry, has a long standing reputation for creating excellence, and has driven the growth of the organization since its inception. His, son, Mr. Abhishek Kumar, assumed responsibility as Director in 1997, and has been instrumental in the development of the company's people, processes, capabilities to deliver tangible value to its stakeholders through long term mutually beneficial relationships.

The significant milestones of the company are as follows:

• Pioneered the introduction of wheel loaders for Bharat Coking Coal Limited (a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd.)
• Established the reputation of reliable and efficient wagon loading by 1990 with increasing capacity delivered from 36 company owned wheel loaders within a span of few years.
• Began its mining operations with Silicia sand mining in Haryana state in 1996.
• Achieved its first Aggregate Quarrying contract for roads and highways from BSC RBM PTC (JV) in 1998.
• Began providing contract mining services for Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. in year 2003.
• Awarded the cut & cover contract in the prestigious Delhi Metro Rail project by the Japanese Consortium KSHI (JV) in 2003.
• Expanded its operations in coal and rock phosphates mines in 2004.
• In 2007, the company was awarded the largest quarrying operations from Jaiprakash Associated Ltd. for the Yamuna Expressway project. The company produces 500,000 tonnes of aggregate per month with a total production target of 16.5 million tonnes in three years.
• Bhilai Jaypee Cement Limited awarded a contract for raising of Limestone, removal of overburden and transportation in Mines at Babupur village, Dist. Satna, Madhya Pradesh in 2009.
• In 2010, Isolux Corsan India Engineering & Construction Pvt Ltd awarded the work for Six Laning of Existing Road on the Kishangarh - Ajmer - Beawer section of National Highway (NH - 8) in the state Rajasthan.
• In 2013, Isolux Corsan India awarded the work for mining, crushing and transportation of aggregates for their Isolux Corsan India- C&C Joint Venture at Varanasi - Aurangabad section of National Highway (NH - 2) in the state Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
• In 2015, first time the company became lessee of a mining lease of road metal and masonry stones and since then have been successfully carrying out the mining operation including drilling, blasting, sizing, excavation at Atela Kalan Mines in Distt. Charkhi-Dadri, Haryana.
